April 26 , 2009 Tim Anderson

Tim Anderson, or Timmy as his friends call him, started his football career at the age of 14. He attended Custer High School in Milwaukee , WI and remembers the day he first stepped on the gridiron. “As a Freshman I was so excited about being in High School that I wanted to participate in every sport. I knew football was physical and intimidating, but when I put those pads on, I knew I was built for this sport.” Timmy started Varsity playing linebacker as a Freshman. In 1998 he was a Senior and was honored as one of only two City Conference players to receive All-Star status and play in the All-State Classic, the other player – was Michael Bennett. Mr. Anderson also helped lead his High School team to three City Conference Championships.

Timmy was scouted and ended up earning a two year scholarship to play for the University of Tennessee Martin , a Division 1 AA school. As a Freshman there, he became a student of the game. Watching and learning more about the game gave Tim more respect for the sport. “Understanding everyone’s roles, on the offense and on the defense, helped me become a more passionate, fearless player.” By his second year, he became a starter and was proud of his accomplishments. The college years passed by quickly and Timmy decided to move back to Milwaukee and ended up attending UW-Milwaukee which had no football team.

“I thought I’d never suit up again. I was attending school part-time and working full-time, keeping in shape by playing basketball in neighborhood parks and local gyms. When one day in 2005, I ran into a childhood friend who was working with a semi-pro team filming games. He asked me if I had any football left in me and my answer was, ‘are you serious? Let me know when and where and I’m there!’ There’s nothing in this world I’d rather be doing than playing football. Needless to say, after meeting Jimmy Medrano (Co-Owner of The Milwaukee Venom) and suiting up as a Venom player, there isn’t and never will be any other place I’d rather be, than with The Venom.”
