A class act

April 9, 2007

Football has always been a big part of #33 Brian Kelly's life, it has made him into the person he is today.; All the hard work, dedication and respect for others take part in his everyday life.

Brian played football for Belvidere High School where his team was state champions in Illinois. After graduating from high school, he played fullback while attending Rock Valley Junior College. He then would transfer to Rockford College where he also played fullback for the Regents and where he received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

He is co-owner of the Roscoe Rush, and also plays for the team as well. He played fullback for the first two years and outside linebacker the past two years. With the Rush entering its 5th season, Brian and his staff have overcome many obstacles.

'We are very fortunate to call Roscoe their home and to represent the community of about 6,000 people" Brian said. 'We have many great supporters in the community like the Roscoe/Rockton Lions Junior Tackle Program and the local YMCA flag football. Without many of our fans and the support from the community, the RUSH would not be where we are today".

From an owner's standpoint, Brian say's they have such a diverse team just like many other teams in semi-pro football.'I am blessed to have a great core of coaches."

'The hardest part for them is to coach players from diverse backgrounds and to put a team together with a focus and determination that we stand by." Brian said.

That same determination and focus is why the Roscoe Rush are highly respected with in their Community and in the Semi-pro football ranks. They have done this from the beginning.

Brian added, "Our players come with one goal in mind and leave everything else at home. I would not change anything that we have done because it has all happened for a reason."

Rob Feltner and Brian Kelly have been managing the team for 5 years and are proud of the idea that all their players know that this team belongs to every member of the Roscoe Rush and there is no person bigger than another.

Away from the football field, Brian Kelly currently lives in Roscoe, IL with his wife Nicole and daughter Payton. The Ironman Football League would like to congratulate Brian and his family as they are expecting another child this May, the baby will be a boy.

Brian currently works at Country Insurance & Financial Services as an Insurance Agent in Rockford, IL.
