AFA set to announce “CLASS OF 2010”
The AFA announced today that they are reviewing nominations of those individuals who have been singled out for enshrinement into the national association’s “Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame” . . . Class of 2010. The process involves reviewing bios of each potential inductee prior to presentation to the selection committee. The national association will then contact each new inductee by mail before releasing all of the names to the public. The public announcement is expected to come later in the week.
Over the past 29 years the AFA has inducted 612 devoted and deserving former 341 players; 98 coaches; 78 executives; 26 officials; 21 pioneers; 20 media/historians; 12 trainer/equipment men; 6 associated with youth football; 5 involved with international semi-pro; 4 from the women's level; and even 1 'super fan'.
This year's Class of Hall of Famers will be honored at the AFA’s 30th Anniversary Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Dinner which will take place at the Hilton Suites Chicago/Oak Brook, 10 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois June 24 - June 25, 2010.
