Clash of titans

Nick Corgiat

Waukesha, WI – Wauwatosa Spartans defensive tackle #54 Nick Corgiat, is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 350 pounds. Nicknamed “Colossus” because of his sheer size and strength, he rarely loses a battle on the football field.

But last week Thursday during the Man vs. Food contest sponsored by the Chancery restaurant in which Corgiat was a contestant, he finally met his match.

“It was a lot bigger than I was expecting” Corgiat said.

His opponent was an 8.9 pound cream puff and he had to eat it all in under 45 minutes. The contest was held at the Chancery restaurant in Waukesha with prizes that include Milwaukee Brewers tickets, a charcoal grill, Summer fest tickets, and more.

“You can’t be nervous about eating a cream puff when you live in Wisconsin.” Corgiat said.

Four other contestants participated in the contest as each was served a giant cream puff of their own. The rules of this competition are simple, if you puke, you lose. First one to finish the cream puff under 45 minutes wins, if no one is able to finish their cream puff in the time allowed than the left overs will be weighed to determine a winner. After a colossal effort, Corgiat finally succumbed to the giant cream puff and finished in 4th place.

The event was a success and none of the contestants puked. Corgiat said that he enjoyed the experience and would do it again. “I had a great time,” corgiat said. “I’m thankful for my wife, family and my personal cheerleader Jody for their support and cheering me on through the entire event.”
