Shorewood, WI – The Rock County Gladiators defeated the much improved Shorewood Monarchs last Saturday night 25-24. The Gladiators scored on their first possession when QB Jeff Supernaw hooked up with receiver Brett Shila on a 60 yard TD pass putting the Gladiators up 6-0. After the Monarchs scored to make the score 8-6, QB Dan Roberts who made his season debut after playing in the arena league connected on a 15 yard pass to Jermar Ayers to make the score 12-8. With the Monarchs leading 12-16, QB Dan Roberts scored on a 6 yard scramble to put the Gladiators ahead by a score of 19-16. The Monarchs were able to score again before Halftime and took the lead 24-19. The Gladiator defense rose to the occasion in the 2nd half shutting out the Monarchs and controlling the tempo for the rest of the game. The Gladiators were finally able to take the lead for good when QB Dan Roberts connected with receiver Marchez Range that proved to be the difference maker as the Gladiators ice the Monarchs by the score of 25-24.
