Gladiators defeat Storm in dramatic fashion

Gladiators runner finds open field

Janesville, WI – The Rock County Gladiators were victorious in their season opener as they beat their American Conference rival the Milwaukee Storm in dramatic fashion last Saturday. The dramatic come from behind win came with only 54 seconds left as Rock County’s Quarterback Jeff Supernaw connected with wide receiver Jermar Ayers for a 30-yard touchdown pass to give the Gladiators a 16-12 week one victory.

For the most part both the Gladiators and Storm played solid defense keeping the score close throughout the entire game. The Gladiators ability to capitalize on a defensive miscue caused by the Storm turned out to be the deciding factor. The Rock County Gladiators (1-0) will enjoy a BYE this week, while the Milwaukee Storm (0-1) return home to take on the Shorewood Monarchs (0-1) at Hart Park this Saturday.
