The man in the middle

June 9 , 2006 Jason Huckstorf

Jason Huckstorf, #64 of the Muskego Hitmen, is like every other player in the Ironman Football League; he loves and craves the game of football. From Pee-wee to High School, Jason played with the kind of passion that the Ironman Football League is all about. At nine years old, he played for the Muskego Athletic Association's Flag League until he was 12 years old. The next rung on the ladder was the All-American Youth Football League where he played Guard and Center on the offensive line for the Chargers (now the Warriors). After graduating from Muskego High School in 1997 and playing for the football team all four years, he thought he'd played his last down of football. He kept blades of grass from the field in his locker so that he would never forget the smell of it.

Seven years later, Jason Huckstorf is not only embracing football once again, but he's playing middle linebacker for the Muskego Hitmen and owns the team. Ever since the IFL granted Jason Huckstorf a franchise in 2003, his team has consistently made the playoffs and has been a model franchise. The Hitmen won the league's prestigious Franchise of the Year Award in 2004 as well as the Ironbowl VIII Championship, defeating the Milwaukee Bulldogs and bringing the trophy home to Muskego. Huckstorf also made the IFL all-star team in 2005. He loves the IFL and the opportunity to play football again. Often lost in the shuffle of the league's abundant pool of talented Linebackers, Jason strives on making the big play. Whether it be stuffing the run or sacking the Quarterback, he is relentless on the football field. Although his career of playing football is in its later stages due to age and nagging injuries, you can bet Huckstorf will still be involved with the sport he loves by continuing to build a strong and respected Muskego franchise that should be around for a long time.
