IFL introduces first All-Star Bowl
July 31 , 2007
This year is going to be a revolutionary year for the Ironman Football League and its All-Stars as the league will feature a game with the National Conference All-stars vs. American Conference All-Stars. This season, the Hall of Fame Committee will be instituting a new process for selecting IFL All-Stars and the league will be hosting its first All-Star Bowl sponsored by Nautilus on September Sunday 9, 2007.
This is only the first of many decisions the IFL is making to elevate its status in the world of AAA Semi-Pro Football. There is more exciting news for our IFL All-Stars to-be and that is that they will be eligible for All-American selection and a chance to play in the national All-Star Game. Thus, the need for a structured selection process; a process that will allow players, coaches, owners and fans to have a voice in which players they feel are deserving of an All-Star selection.
All teams in the IFL will be required to participate in this process and any team that chooses not to participate will forfeit the opportunity for any of their players to be selected as All-Stars or to participate in the Nautilus All-Star Game. The following outlines the new selection process.
Each team will select three players per position. Players are to be selected only from the voting teams’ conference. Players selected must be from teams excluding the voting teams’ players. It is highly recommended that teams solicit input from all persons involved with their organizations including, but not limited to, the following:
- Owners
- Coaches
- Players
- Fans
- Sponsors
The Coaching Staff for the Nautilus All-Star Game will be the coaching staff for the Conference Runner’s-Up from the current IFL season. The All-Star selections will be announced between the conferences’ respective Wild Card Games on August 11 and 12, 2007.
This will be the first All-Star game in IFL history, an accomplishment that the League Owner/CEO Chris Chudada is proud of.
“We finally have the resources and the means to have a special game like this. This is something that we will have annually every year for the players and our fans to enjoy. Yes we have had all-star selections in the past but this year will be the first year we actually have an All-Star game. I’m excited and I know it will be special for the players and coaches who are involved. I applaud the Hall of Fame committee for their efforts to handle the all-star selection process and the work that they have put in to it. We understand that there will be ways to improve this process, as it is a new one, and the Hall of Fame Committee welcomes your feedback on how we may do just that as we continue to improve,” Chudada said.
