League's elite honored at annual awards banquet

September 22 , 2007 Nautilus All-Star Bowl

Last Friday night the Ironman Football League held its seventh annual awards banquet at the luxurious Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee where players and their families enjoyed a social night of fun and entertainment.  The banquet hall was stunning to stay the least as its occupants enjoyed a delicious main course of honey almond chicken and roast turkey served with gravy and stuffing.

The Owner/CEO of the league, Chris Chudada, started the ceremony with an introduction of praising team owners on the fantastic job they have all done with their franchises and a statement of how much he looks forward to an even better future.

That night, the league honored its current all-stars.  Dan Greene, a spokesperson for the leagues Hall of Fame, also announced to everyone in attendance that the Hall of Fame Committee was pleased on how the all-star voting process turned out and said there are plans to improve it.

The Commissioner of the league, Pete Narrai, also said a few words to the crowd.  He expects great things from the league in the future and said that the future starts now.

Bob Gingras of the Madison Mustangs took home the Franchise of the Year award for his hard work and relentless dedication in making his franchise a strong one.

Nick Seliger of the Muskego Hitmen took home the Ironman of the Year award for sportsmanship and character on and off the field.

Markell Thompson of the Muskego Hitmen was the winner of the leagues coveted MVP trophy as he was dominating on the field and his talent did not go unnoticed by voters.

Tom Hawkins of the Burlington Blue Devils took home the most improved team award as he turned a once struggling franchise in 2006 into a play contender in 2007.

Other award winners were Jackie “Hollywood” Jordan (Burlington Blue Devils) as the Nautilus All-Star Bowl MVP, Zac Gordon (Madison Mustangs) as Defensive game MVP of the Nautilus All-Star Bowl and Jason Hufford (Roscoe Rush) as the games offensive MVP.

Another feature of the night was the official ceremony induction of the two new Hall of Famers Tommy Roach and Stan Peplinski.

The League thanks everyone who attended and supported this event and looks forward to another exciting season in 2008.
