Chudada inducted into AFA Hall of Fame
September 3 , 2007
Chris Chudada, Owner/CEO of the Ironman Football League, joins 549 other selected football greats in the American Football Association (AFA) Hall of Fame as he enters enshrinement into the “Class of 2007.”
The news came as a pleasant surprise to the young executive as he had no idea he would be inducted. “I was aware I was being considered but I never thought I would be inducted. It is truly an honor to be recognized amongst my peers as a Hall of Famer in this profession. It is truly amazing!” I’m very fortunate to do what I love, and thankful that I can give back to a sport that has literally been a part of me all my life,” Chudada said.
Chudada has devoted the last twelve years of his life to the Ironman Football League, using quality and professionalism as his guidelines. For his unselfish dedication over the years to the semi-pro level league, teams with which he was involved, and the outstanding reputation as a football executive during his career, Chudada will take his rightful place in football immortality amongst other semi-pro legends who have previously been inducted over the past 27 years.
Chudada will enter the AFA Hall of Fame as one of the youngest executives ever to be enshrined. Despite his age (31), he continues to succeed and his passion for football is still overflowing.
The Class of 2007 has twenty five members. The induction dinner and enshrinement will take place on December 7th, 2007 in Sarasota, Florida at the luxurious Helmsley Sandcastle Resort Hotel on Lido Beach. The induction dinner is one of many events that will be going on that weekend. Other events include the AFA alumni golf outing, AFA/HOF Legends vs. Class of 2007 Old Timers Flag Game on the beach, and the first annual AFA Youth Football Invitational Championship game.
Since the inaugural enshrinement in 1981, the AFA Hall of Fame has recognized 301 players, 93 coaches, 71 executives, 22 officials, 19 pioneers, 20 media/historians, 10 trainers, 4 women’s league representatives, 6 youth football representatives, 5 international Semi-pro representatives and 1 super fan.
