Former Hawkeye signs with Hitmen

June 2 , 2008 Warren Holloway

Muskego, WI – The Ironman Football League continues to attract top rated talent year after year and 2008 is no exception. This year Warren Holloway, former Iowa Hawkeye and 2005 Capital One Bowl hero, has signed with the Muskego Hitmen and will play wide receiver/kick returner.

Holloway is best known for the play he made in the 2005 Capital One Bowl which people in Iowa refer to as “the catch.”

With 14 seconds remaining an a intense fourth quarter with 12th ranked Louisiana state leading by one point over Iowa, quarterback Drew Tate connected with Holloway on a exciting 56-yard touchdown pass that earned Iowa the victory and made Holloway a hero.

Holloway runs an electrifying 4.3 forty yard dash that will give the Hitmen yet another weapon to add to its already impressive offensive arsenal. When Holloway is catching touchdowns this year you can expect that he will be returning them on kickoff’s and punts.

“I’m very impressed with the IFL,” says Holloway. “What I love most is that the players are very passionate about the game.”

Watch for Holloway to make his IFL debut as the Muskego Hitmen open their regular season and travel to Madison to take on the Mustangs this Sunday at 5pm at Middleton High School.
