St. Francis, WI – The newly finalized IFL team lineup promises to provide excitement for fans in 2008.
The most recent addition to the league, the newly formed St. Francis Monarchs, are optimistic about what the new year will bring for a young team with big dreams. The Monarchs are owned and operated by a board of IFL veterans who are planning to take their knowledge and love of the game to the field. The motto of the team is simple, “To strive for superiority, in football and in the community, with an undying love for the game.”
The co-owners agree that the image and legacy of the IFL have long been established through the hard work and dedication of the current owners and board of the league. The Monarchs plan to add to that tradition by exemplifying the culture of the “working man’s NFL”.
They are dedicated to establishing a way of life within their staff and players that fosters the continued growth of the league by sharing a love for the game of football, pledging to participate and be active in the St. Francis community, demonstrating positive attitudes that reflect the organization at all times and maintaining a competitive edge.
The desire is to continue to attract talented players to the league that can add to the excitement and experience of every fan of the IFL. By doing this, the Monarchs hope to foster the growth of the league for years to come.
The team has already solidified key members of their coaching staff, with Offensive and Defensive coordinators, Mike Connell and Scott Williams, both from the coaching staff of the University School of Milwaukee Varsity Football Team. Offensive Coordinator, Mike Connell, joins the staff as an IFL and NAFL veteran who possesses 13 years of high school coaching experience.
Coach Connell has experience in training High School and College athletes in off-season development for speed and agility. Defensive Coordinator, Scott Williams, has been coaching at the high school level at USM for 4 years. “I am excited to be a part of the inaugural Monarch football season, and have already begun putting earnest thought into our defensive identity,” says Coach Williams. The Monarchs are elated at what the addition of both, Coach Connell and Coach Williams can mean for their ability to be a true competitor for the upcoming season.
The Monarchs are excited to host their home games at the Milwaukee Sports Complex located in Franklin, WI. With a roster of IFL players who are excited to have a refreshed look at the league by joining a new team, as well as, an extensive list of new talent joining the league, the team is confident that they will be able to compete in the IFL as a true competitor.
The team is currently seeking additional sponsors, players, coaches and volunteers to assist in reaching the goals that they have set out to achieve.
