October 15, 2007
The Ironman Football League has successfully solidified the use Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium and Waukesha South High School for a couple of regular season games in 2008. The league is currently in negotiations with Concordia University in Mequon and Oak Creek High School for use of their stadiums as well. The two new stadiums are great additions to an already prestigious list of stadiums that the IFL has to offer.
In other league news, the Oak Creek Cyclones have been approved by the league to move their franchise to Waukesha and will now be called the Spring City Cyclones. The Cyclones will be playing their home games at Waukesha South High School and hope to form a strong relationship in the Waukesha community. The Cyclones are currently planning to hold a punt, pass and kick camp for the Waukesha youth sometime before the IFL regular season begins.
As of now, the Ironman Football League has signed and approved 3 new franchises. The new teams include the Rock County Gladiators who will be using the Rock County Football Park in Beloit as their home field. The Gladiators boasted a respectable 11-0 record last year as a member of the Northwest Indiana Football League (NIFL) in only their first season.
The Wauwatosa Spartans are another brand new team but are made up of veteran IFL players. The Spartans will be using Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium (pictured above) for their home games.
The third newest member to join the IFL is the Oak Creek Renegades; The Renegades will be a competitive football team and hope to make Oak Creek High School’s football stadium their home field.
The league currently has 5 other new additional franchises that want to join and their applications are pending at this time.
