Predators improve to 2-1

June 25, 2007

Bobby Windom carries the ballDon’t look now, but the West Allis Predators have won two out of their first three games of the season so far. Yes, the same team that had a combine franchise record of 2-14 over the past two years is now 2-1 so far this season.

The Predators are off to their best start in franchise history after just coming off a win over the Milwaukee Panthers. The game against the Panthers was mostly a defensive struggle for both teams as yards came at a price which usually was a painful one.

Predator workhorse # 20 Bobby (Boom Boom)Windom was his stellar self last Sunday as he rushed for a bruising 108 yards through the teeth of a tough Panther defense. Windom already has over 330 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns for the season and shows no signs of stopping.

Against the Panthers last Sunday, Predators receiver # 81 Brandon Bryant caught a routine slant pass from quarterback #11 Mike Bernal and ran 35 yards for the touchdown as that would be the games only one scored. The Predators went on to stun the Panthers 10-0.

Scott Schreiner said after the game, “This is a great win, the reason for our success is because we got rid of the “ME” players and added guys who are more “TEAM” oriented. It’s great, no more fighting amongst ourselves, now it’s a team attitude first and foremost.” The predators were the most active team in the league this year in free agency, acquiring 8 players from different teams to help the struggling franchise win, and so far it’s paid off.
