Season in review
August 6 , 2007
Week 9 is over and in the books; only 4 teams from each conference are left standing from a grueling hard hitting regular season. The league enjoyed one of its finest seasons as 2007 showed IFL fans that every team in the league could upset the other on any given weekend.
Teams, even the most talented in the league, were not given an easy victory but often had to fight tooth and nail to achieve it. 2007 also offered some pleasant surprises as the West Allis Predators rose from the bottom of the NFC to earn a playoff birth, their first in their history.
The Burlington Blue Devils turned their franchise around as they will make their first AFC playoff appearance this year.
The Muskego Hitmen rose from the ashes as they improved from a 5-5 record last year to having an undefeated season so far.
The McHenry Pirates set their sails as they enter the IFL playoffs for the first time in team history hoping to plunder their way a top of the AFC.
The Franklin Outlaws battled through injuries to compile a respectable 6-2 record as their quest for a championship continues.
Lake Country Cyclones quietly and methodically rose to 3rd place in the NFC as this sleeping giant has awaked just in time for the playoffs.
The Madison Mustangs continue to be a perennial NFC playoff contender and hopes to finally get that elusive ring.
This season also saw IFL fans fill the stadiums at an alarming rate to watch their favorite team play as the league attendance record this year improved from last year. This upcoming weekend marks the start of the Ironman Football League playoffs.
All playoff games will be played at the Milwaukee Sports Complex in Franklin, Wisconsin. Be sure to check back here on Wednesday night for a list of team match-ups and game times.
